These instructions are indented to walk you though setting up Windows XP for Infinity-At-Home broadband.
Note: The screenshots included in this text are included to give a
general idea of what the screen should look like and may or may not correspond
exactly to what you see on your computer. However, the screenshots should be
similar to what you see on your screen.
These instructions assume that your Ethernet card has already been installed
according to the vendor's instructions and the manufacturer's drivers for the
device have been installed. Additionally, to make these configuration changes
you must be logged into the computer with Administrator privileges.

Setting up Network connection
- Click on the Start button.
- Depending on how Windows XP is setup, click on the Control Panel,
or click on Settings, then Control Panel.
- Double click on Network Connections.
- Find, then double click on the Local Area Connection.
- The following screen will come up:

- Click on the Properties Button.
- Click once to highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

- Click on the Properties Button
- The following screen will come up:

- Make sure there is a black dot in Obtain an IP address automatically.
- Make Sure there is a black dot in Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Once this is set hit OK.
- The local area connection status screen will appear. Click on the OK button
on the bottom next to the cancel button.
Checking your IP Address
This section will show you how to make sure you are getting an IP address.
- Click on the Start button.
- Depending on how Windows XP is setup, click on the Control
Panel, or click on Settings, then Control Panel.
- Double click on Network Connections.
- Find then double click on the Local Area Connection.
- The following screen will come up:

- Click on the Support tab next to the general tab. The following screen will appear:

- Your IP address will be at this screen. It will be 192.168.x.x (As
long as you have something along this screen all is well.)
- Your Subnet Mask will be at this screen. It will be 255.255.x.x
(As long as you have something along this screen all is well.)
Checking Mac Address
This section is designed to help you find your MAC address of your Ethernet Card.
- Click on the Start button.
- Depending on how Windows XP is setup, double click on the Control
Panel, or double click on Settings, then Control Panel.
- Double click on Network Connections.
- Find then double click on the Local Area Connection.
- The following screen will come up:

- Click on the Support tab next to the general tab.
- The following screen will appear:

- Click on the Details button under the Default Gateway number.
- The follow screen will come up:

- The Physical Address: (Example 00-00-39-81-f7-AA) is the unique address of
the Ethernet card. Every Ethernet card is different.
